Hawai’i (again)

Our last island, Oahu, is the only duplicate between the two cruises. We weren’t too excited
about visiting a city, particularly for the second time, but went ashore anyway and started to
wander. Picked up a bus schedule and map of the island, noticed Hanauma Bay Preserve not too
far out of town, and figured out which buses to get there. Beautiful snorkeling! Unfortunately,
since we didn’t start out with a destination, it was noon before we cleared US immigration, then
we had to eat lunch of course, followed by 2 hours on various buses, and we had to be back
onboard by 7. Oh well, we know what we’ll do first thing early in the morning next time we get
here. Margie swam out past the inner reef to clear water, Phil has this aversion to salt water
coming down the snorkel so he stayed inside the reef with less visibility. Phil had the little
electronic camera, so that is what you get to see now. Margie had a disposable underwater film
camera, so we (and you) will see those after we get home.
