27 days this year?!? We’ve just been gypped out of a day of cruising - I want my money back!
Or to put it a little calmer, we crossed the international dateline last night. So instead of being 6
hours behind the east coast, we are now 18 hours ahead. Right now we think it’s 4pm Sunday,
with only 2 hours until dinner, while all you snow birds think it’s 10pm Saturday and time to go
to bed.
And that means we’re in Nuku’alofa, the capital of the kingdom of Tonga. Tonga is a very
religious country, so we learned that Nuku’alofa can be loosely translated as “Nothing’s open”.
We did have a very nice tour of the island, though, stopping briefly at the King’s castle and royal
tombs, then going on to the much more interesting Houma blow holes and visiting a colony of
Flying Foxes, followed by a fun, albeit non-photogenic, snorkel.

Back at the dock Phil found a couple of other interesting sites. No matter how big it is, someone
will find a way to overload it!

Well, I just reviewed all your blog's to date! (I was lost on how this works...but got it now!) Man, I LOVE all the photo's! Feels like I've stowed away with you! (I wish!) Has Margie started growing her mermaid tail fin back yet? You'd better watch her...she may swim out to sea one day!!! :) I'm so happy you are having the time of your life. The pictures are awesome! Love the views, the water, the bits and the bats! Keep them coming, it's a ray of 'light' to us chumps sitting here in the cold, Tennessee air! :)
Once again beautiful photos. Loved the fire truck! It is interesting that the cruise line schedules these stops on Sunday when everything is closed for the most part.
